The Ordinary Haul/Review

Once again, I fell prey to the latest trend in skincare. This time, we're talking about The Ordinary brand. I'd seen a review on their super affordable, yet full coverage foundation on YouTube and I wanted to grab one in my shade immediately. After checking out their website and discovering their highly rated skincare products, I purchased a few items to test out myself.

It's been two months since I received my items and have been testing them out. Continue reading for a short and honest review on each product!

Beauty Favorites 2017

It's been a long time since I've mentioned new beauty faves. I've been trying really hard not to buy unnecessary things and sticking to using products that work well for me. Being the product junkie that I am, I love trying new things and sharing them with y'all if they're worth mentioning! Here are some awesome products that I use all the time and think you should check out! Make sure you read all the way to end for a picture with swatches.

Affordable Rose Pendant Necklaces (Under $25!)

For months and months, I saw this Vesper NYC Rose pendant necklace all over my Instagram feed.

I fell in love with it, and I knew I had to have it- but I was not willing to pay $99 for a dainty piece of jewelry. Sorry, but ever since my house was burglarized back in February and a lot of my jewelry was stolen, I stopped emotionally and financially investing in materialistic things. Besides, ya girl is a frugalista by nature!

Where there's a will, there's a way. I was determined to find something similar for a fraction of the price, and I was successful! I put together a list of five different rose pendants for anyone who is looking to hop on this trend but doesn't want to spend too much money. The best part? All these options are under $25!

The Best Cleansing Conditioner?! Renpure Coconut Créme Cowash Review

I've made it a point to eliminate harsh chemicals from my haircare and skincare routine in general. But after dying my hair to the point of no return, the efforts to nurture my dried out strands are REAL. The first step I took was seeking out sulfate-free formulas. From Lush shampoo bars to OGX, I've tried em all.

New Season, New Reasons

Fall time is finally here! But if there's one thing I learned about New York's weather, its that it is never consistent! Just last week, it was close to 90°F, and this week we had to bust out the full sleeves and light jackets.

Blue Jeans, White Shirt

My summer uniform for 2017 was basically different variations of a classic look: blue jeans and a white shirt. I love how this combination requires no effort, yet it can be dressed up or down depending on how you accessorize it.

Glossier Review - Is It Worth The Hype?

For the past few months, I've been using Glossier products on a day to day basis. If you're new to Glossier, where have you been? Jokes aside, this beauty brand has been blowing up on the internet for the past few years and taking social media by storm.

The Glossier beauty brand was born out of Into the Gloss, one of the hottest sites for all things makeup, skincare, and hair related.

My first impression of it was that it's a hyped up, aesthetically appealing beauty/skincare line. I only saw this brand mentioned in sponsored posts and that typically turns me off.

It wasn't until one of my coworkers kept raving about the products that I considered giving it a shot. This was an IRL testimony from the beauty editor and she was not a rep for this company. Considering how amazing her skin and makeup looked every day, I was inclined to place my order ASAP.

A New Feel

Welcome back, or should I say WELCOME! Introducing Frayed Feems, my new site to reinforce new beginnings into my life. There's still the same content from when this was cheesehima.com (check ARCHIVE), but I felt it was time to disassociate with that name.

You see, I created the tag name "cheesechima" when I was in high school and everybody used AIM (omg, feeling old yet?) Years down the line, when I decided to create this blog to keep my love for writing alive, I knew I had to pick a name quickly while the momentum was in full stride.  I decided to use "cheesehima" which was a corny pun meant to say "she's Hima". Full House fans will get the joke.

Anyways, it was definitely time to retire that tag name. Don't get me wrong, I'll always be cheesehima in my heart, but I wanted to take my blog in a different direction.

Everything will be okay

Hello blog! Once again, I've abandoned you and as always I'm here to explain myself.

These past few months have been lovely yet hectic at the same time. Let's start with good news: I've been interning at a women's publication and I absolutely love it! It is a full-time gig so most of my time and energy are consumed by that. But I'd rather be doing that than sitting home, mindlessly watching reality tv and falling into a dark hole of self-doubt.
