The year started off on a pretty chill note for me. January is always super slow, so I took advantage of that to just slow myself down. Took time to adjust to a new job, gave my mind and body some time off, and spent quality time with people that uplift me.
On this particular Sunday, I went to brunch with my favorite cousin. It was a *super rare* warm day in January (considering how freezing cold this winter has been.) So you already know I had to whip out some warmer weather pieces to mix with my winter essentials.
I love how versatile this vintage floral skirt is. I rocked it in the summer with sandals and off the shoulder tops/ tanks. This time I wore a cropped white t-shirt with bishop sleeves. I love how girly yet effortless this look is.
I got these knee-high boots from Topshop a while ago but didn't get to wear them due to the nasty snow. This was the perfect day to pull them out the box and take them for a stroll. Since the skirt has buttons, I was able to customize how much of a slit I wanted. I wanted to show off the length of the boots just a little bit. They are one of the most comfortable boots I've ever owned!
Like most people, I see the new year as a new beginning. But one thing I've changed about myself over the years is that I don't rely on just the new year to make changes to my life. I make them when they're needed.
As always, I'm working on myself and trying to become the best version of me. But this time around, I'm not going to be so hard on myself. If there's one thing I learned in the past couple of years, its that I have to be kinder to myself.
Hows your 2018 been so far?
