May Faves!

Happy June everyone! It’s incredible how fast this year is going by. It seems like just a few months ago I was watching monthly favorites on YouTube and now I’m sharing mine with the world! Well, with whoever is reading <3 Anyways, I managed to gather quite a few products that I used the crap out of last month, so let’s get to talkin!
St. Ives Even & Bright Scrub Pink Lemon & Mandarin Orange
I’ve always been a fan of the St. Ives Apricot Scrub, but I decided to switch it up this month and try out a different exfoliant. The pink lemon and mandarin orange scrub is a moderate level exfoliator that’s very creamy and not harsh on the skin. Even though the consistency is between a creamy lotion and face scrub, it gently scrubs my face and leaves me with a smooth surface. I usually use it in the shower so I can take my time gently scrubbing my face and neck. Love this stuff. St. Ives, you did it again!

Milani Rose Powder Blush in Romantic Rose

This is one of those products that I bought simply because of the packaging. I mean c’mon now, look at that beautiful rose structure detailing (soooo gorgeous!) At first I didn’t think the color pay off was as strong as I expected. But the more I tried it, the more I liked it. The color is buildable with a very natural finish. I love using this blush because it makes the process of doing my makeup feel like dress up time.

Get your hands on one asap! I have a feeling this is one of those products that are limited time and will be discontinued soon. Get yours here and check out the other shades

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny Bronzer
I was never really into bronzers, but I really wanted to try the NYC sunny bronzer since I saw some great makeup gurus use a drugstore product to give them a sun kissed glow. Even though I don’t contour with it, I like the tan it gives my skin. On days that I feel like I look too pale, I apply a few swishes to the sides of my face and where I'd usually apply blush. It’s a drugstore must have and my picture doesn’t do any justice to the color so I think you outta go check it out for yourself!

Wet n Wild Megaliner liquid eyeliner
This was my attempt at wiggling back into trying out liquid eyeliner. I’m more of a gel/marker eyeliner type of gal. But the problem with those techniques is that the formula is not as opaque as liquid eyeliners (in my opinion). I wanted a cheap eyeliner just in case I didn’t perform too well and I wouldn’t regret throwing it out. I’ve gotten surprisingly better at applying liquid eyeliner and this lil guy really helped out. I love how dark and intense this formula is. And it doesn’t flake throughout the day! Two thumbs up for Wet n Wild once again

You can find this at any store that sells Wet N Wild products and its only $3

Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
I bought this mascara after YouTube guru Lauren Curtis continuously raved about it. At first, I didn’t see the hype. The mascara would clump up my lashes and I felt like I lost volume instead of getting any. Then a few months later I decided to give it another shot and I’m glad I did. The trick to using this mascara is really about getting deep into the roots of the lashes and wiggling it upwards. The wand does a superb job at separating and coating each lash. Patience is key! Thanks Lauren!

I got mine at Walgreens but it is not available online so checkout the Jordana Website

Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base
This eyeshadow primer is another rave reviewed item in the world of beauty, and now I know why. It applies in between a wet and thick consistency, but blends on smoothly on the lids. It really keeps my eyeshadow lasting a long while and its under $4!!!! Go grab one for yourself and you won’t regret it.

L.A. Girl Brick Collection in Nudes

This eyeshadow palette is probably my most favorite item in this post. I bought it after reading reviews claiming that it is a dupe for the Naked 3 palette. I wouldn’t completely agree with that because the pigmentation on these isn’t as strong as the Naked 3, but the colors are pretty darn close and that’s all I really care about. I love using #2 and #4 (from left to right) for an everyday look and I use the shimmery colors if I’m going out at night. This palette is one of 4 of Brick collection eyeshadow palettes. I got mine from eBay

E.L.F. Contour Brush

I’ll admit I’m a little confused if this brush is for contouring the face or eyes, but I use it on my eyes. I think this is an awesome crease brush and I love applying a bronzer or #4 from the L.A.Girl Nudes palette on my crease to give it some definition. It also blends out the shadows pretty seamlessly. For $3 you can’t go wrong

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser

I got a haircut in the beginning of May and swore off heat styling, but that was a very big lie to myself. To give myself the peace of mind that I am at least treating my damaged ends, I purchased this leave-in product. I really like the formula because it’s not tacky or sticky. I just pump it once onto my palms and work the product into my damp hair, focusing mainly on the mid shaft and ends. I can’t say much for the damage repair, only because I always heat style my hair and cause the damage at that point. But it works great as a blow dry cream!

Lips

You guys know the deal by now, I love my pinkish nudes and this month I’ve stuck to that routine lol. Here’s a quick breakdown of the items.

   1.     NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes- my Holy Grail item. This is my favorite lip product in the world. So comfortable, smells great and the shade is very manipulative depending on the lip liners you pair it with. MUST HAVE!
   2.      Kat Von D Studded Kiss lipstick in Lolita- this shade is so popular but since the liquid lipstick is always sold out, I took advantage of the Sephora Black Friday sale back in November and snagged a deluxe version of the studded kiss lipstick. It feeds my pinkish nude addiction and has pretty good staying power. This makes me want the liquid version even more!
   3.      NYX lip liner in Nutmeg- more on the brown side, but I like to pair it with NYX Cannes on days that I want to go for a more brown lip look. P.S. I’m really digging the brown lips trend nowadays. Reminds me of the 90s!
   4.      Kiko Precidsion lip pencil #305 - this shade is a deep burgundy with a bit of brown. I like pairing this with my super beige nude lip colors so that they turn a little more creamy light rosy red rather than me looking like a dead fish lol

   Favorite Bag: Mini Messenger

I wanted to mention this bag because I used it a lot during the month of May and am continuing to use it now as well. I got this bag a few years but I don’t remember which store :/ HOWEVER the label inside says XXI which is the logo that Forever 21 uses so I think it was from there. I took a break from my well-loved bucket bag and backpack and minimized my bag to this cute messenger bag. If I want to travel light, this bag is my go to because I can fit my wallet, lip products, a pen, keys and hand sanitizer right in and I’m out the door. Plus, it goes really nicely with any outfit.

Those are my favorites of last month. I hope y'all found something on here that you’d like to try for yourself. Remember, it doesn’t take much to find beauty products that could make you feel better about yourself/treat yourself with. There’s no need to break the bank. As always, thank you and happy reading!
