Summer is finally over and we can start busting out our fall attire (my fave!) I love throwing on some boots and an oversized sweater or turtleneck and calling it a day. This week things are starting to heat up once again in NYC so I decided to take advantage of that and wear this vintage rose patterned velvet dress paired with block heel sandals and a tan mini crossbody bag.

Suede lace choker- DIY
I thought my days of wearing velvet were over, but when I saw this dress I couldn't leave it behind. The dress originally had shoulder pads and was meant to be worn as a cowl neck. I ripped out the shoulder pads and took advantage of the wide neckline to create a makeshift off-the-shoulder look. Sometimes you have to see the potential in an item rather than passing it off by face value.
By pairing this dress with my bolo tie inspired choker and tan accessories, I managed to pull off a western look that wasn't too over the top. After all, I am a city girl!
If you've made it down to here, then I've got a little story for you! I've been wanting to post an out of the day (ootd) and fashion related post since I discovered fashion blogs 7 years ago! I never thought I could be a fashion blogger because I didn't think I had what it took. I am still very awkward when getting photographed, but with the support of loved ones who believe in me- I am working on diminishing any self-doubting obstacles. This post holds so much significance to my personal growth. I'm excited to share my style and fashion tips with my readers and hope this inspires people to wear what they want to feel their best.
Happy reading! xoxo
